ERICKSON NEWS - CHRISTMAS 2025

This is the twenty sixth year I have produced this little Christmas page, and it continues to be an enjoyable yearly exercise.

To all our friends, local and remote, we wish you a Christmas filled with peace and joy and hope that 2026 will be a year where the world moves closer together in unity, tolerance and mutual love and acceptance.

Tim spent a few weeks in January riding with Andrew in Canberra. This photo in the hills near Tidbinbilla. Tough ride that day.

Andrew was keen to help so offered to lend Tim a very fast bike - sure pal!

Late January - first day of the school year at Northcote High School for Ollie (Year 8) and Annie (starting in Year 7 at the new school)

In March, Peter Cuffley and Tim finally completed the publication of his book on the Sweeneys of Eltham. They are both great great grandsons of Thomas Sweeney who was transported to Australia from Ireland in 1823.

March 2025 - Ollie is part of the U14 cricket premiership team

April 2025 - Mark Bernie, Brian and Tim have their usual lunch to remember the Coburg 24 Hour Carnival that they organised for many years

And just one month later, we lost Brian unexpectedly. Tim's riding mate is sadly missed.

We all attended Paul's address to the National Press Club in Canberra in late May, following on from the landslide re-election of the Labor Government. Paul was Campaign Director.

Every Labor advertisement in the Federal Election was 'Authorised P. Erickson, ALP, Canberra' so what better tshirt for Essie!

Tim joined some fellow Centurions in early June to help fellow member Mike Porter celebrate his 100th birthday in Echuca. Looking good Mike!

June 2025 - Chris feeds Essie while Lucy looks on in amazement

Tim didn't get to Europe this year but Andrew did and caught up with Harold in Luxembourg for 10 days of compulsory riding.

August 2025 -Matt and Tim and Jess and Amie and Lesley and their team cleaned up at the St Linus Kinder Trivia Night - with considerable help from some of Matt's mates

September 2025 - Terry Erickson celebrates his 9th birthday in Canberra

Tim and fellow parishioner Ron Cruickshank produced a centenary history of St Linus and it sold to rave reviews (well, that's what Tim says)

October 2025 - The Centenary Celebration for St Linus Anglican Church - a chance for many past parishioners to return for the day

In October, Paul Erickson was voted top of 'The 10 Most Powerful Covert People in Australia', as per the Financial Review. This photo, which led the article, shows Paul in Election mode. It's a a beauty.
